Redacting Medieval Recipes

by THL Dagonell Collingwood (David Salley)

I have a strong interest in Medieval History. I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. My medieval persona lives in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, in the Shire of Heronter. I've had five publications about heraldry in the organization, under my Medieval Pseudonym, THL Dagonell Collingwood of Emerald Lake . I also publish a regular Medieval Games column in the local newsletter. Additionally, I occasionally "redact" or modernize Medieval Recipes.

Red Wall

The Tales of Redwall by Brian Jacques is your standard sword and sorcery fantasy series, except that the characters are all meadow animals such as mice and squirrels and rabbits. Brian wrote "The Redwall Cookbook" listing how to make the dishes he mentions in his stories. It's basically a vegetarian's cookbook for children. I've decided that I'm going to reproduce every recipe in the book!
