using loops

Time needed (estimate): 15 minutes

Pose a problem that needs a loop. Student work individually for 7 minutes writing a function to solve the problem you have posed.

Students pair up and the first tries to convince the second that her loop is correct (4 minutes) and then the second student tries to convince the first that his loop is correct.

The instructor can then either

1) choose a pair of students to present the better of their solutions.


2) make comments about what was observed among all of the student work while the instructor was walking around during the discussion.
