Courses

For the Fall 2007 semester I'll be teaching labs for the CSC110 Introduction to Computing course.

The course provides an overview of Computer Science, covering the history of computers, the impact of computers on society, programming, hardware, theory of computation and artificial intelligence, networks, the Internet and World Wide Web, as well as the ethical use of computer technology. The lab provides hands-on experience to reinforce the concepts introduced in the lecture.

The lab manual for the course is Explorations in Computer Science, by Mark Meyer.

Schedule

Labs last for 50 minutes, and meet on Wednesdays at 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. All students taking the CSC110 course are required to sign up for one of these labs!

I'll be available for office hours, by appointment, on Wednesdays (and occasionally on other days as well).

Some Sad Computer

Computers

Each lab is limited to around 20 students.

You can do very well in the course even if you have no previous computer experience; however, students with little previous exposure to computers will need to spend additional time on the computer outside of lab in order to succeed in the course.

Lab Helper

In addition to our lab assignments, Lab Helper often contains tasty hints and tips that just might help with the lab.
